Tryptic Soy Agar is a general growth medium prepared with or without blood or enrichments. It is used for the isolation of different strains of fastidious microorganisms.

Description: Tryptic Soy Agar (Soybean-Casein Digest Agar) is a general purpose agar medium which may be used for the cultivation of fastidious and non-fastidious aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms. A blood agar medium may be prepared by adding 5 to 10% sterile defibrinated blood.
